This za'atar spiced salsa verde will jazz up any thing including grilled fish, chicken and vegetables. Here we use it to top grilled tofu. Grilling tofu requires a really hot grill. Brush both sides with olive and grill away for 5-7 minutes per side. This sauce is perfect for your Sample the Mixes packet. Just sprinkle away!

  • 1 block of tofu sliced in half and grilled
  • ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp While My Za'atar Gently Weeps Middle Eastern Spice Blend
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp jalapeño pepper, seeded and diced fine
  • 1 garlic clove, diced
  • 2 tbsp pine nuts
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper

sea salt & pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Place the griiled tofu on a plate.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk the remaining ingredients together. Add more olive oil if needed.
  3. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper.
  4. Spoon sauce over the tofu and serve.
